Facebook to invest in Pakistan big time, PM Imran Khan

On Friday Prime Minister Imran Khan applauded Facebook’s plan to flex its financial muscles by establishing programs in Pakistan by investing big time. PM Imran Khan enlivened the social media titan’s interest and future plans.  

Facebook Chief Operating Officer (COO) Sheryl Sandberg conducted a virtual meeting with the Pakistan premier to discuss Facebook’s investment plans. Facebook is particularly interested in gaming up literacy initiatives in Pakistan in the wake of Covid-19, which has served as a digital catalyst.

Pakistan is on the road to bootstrap itself out of marred financial past and security issues. In such circumstances, such an initiative is a good omen. Digital economy and platform-based applications are a vehicle of the sharing economy in Pakistan. The Facebook investment will be a gateway for Pakistan’s youth to spur in their entrepreneurial careers. Similarly, Pakistan youth’s exploitation of such platform-based applications (PBA)s will alleviate poverty and will be a source of bringing foreign remittance to the lurking economy
